Who we are

The Forge Restaurant & Bakehouse is a place where history and culinary passion meet harmoniously. This charming establishment, once a steward's house on the K’eogh Estate in the 1700s, transformed over the years into a forge, shop, and post office under the stewardship of the Murphy family until the 1970s. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Jordan family, who restored it in 2001, the venue still boasts its original flag floors and sash windows, all reflecting its rich past.

In 2025, Phil & Kay reopened The Forge, inviting you back into a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Chef Phil works magic in the kitchen, crafting innovative dishes that highlight fresh, local ingredients, complemented by an array of freshly baked breads and treats. Host Kay brings an inviting presence, creating a relaxed and traditional ambiance perfect for flavorful breakfasts, leisurely brunches, or casual dinners with friends.
